My goal is to offer you something you can't get anywhere else - working knowledge about the principles of social media that rule success, rather than tactics that have buzz, but a very short shelf life. It's time to get professionals properly trained.
I do this under the banner of the Modern Media Leadership Institute.
Conferences, summits, webinars, case studies and bootcamps flourish to capture the tidal wave of interest in social media management. Problem is, learning how to integrate social media requires time and deeper learning than these "quickies" can provide. They are great to get a few pointers, get a sense of what others are doing, or to get a chance to rub elbows with the "superstars" and practitioners of new media.
MMLI set out to develop professional training courses to educate professionals on key principles of social media management. Here we offer intensive workshops on various aspects of social media. These are currently focused on key activities and skills most professionals need to get under their belt, such as:
- Basics of Social Media
- Principles of Building a Strategy
- Measurement and Metrics
- Social Media Marketing
- Monitoring and Reputation Management
- Managing Information Overload
These courses are not intended to teach how to use Web 2.0 tools, but using them is a key activity in the learning process.
Forward-looking organizations have hired me to customize training for large numbers of their staff on various new media competencies or briefings for executives to keep abreast of how their organizations are being impacted by the cultural shifts social media represent.
I occasionally train for the State of California through their training services program, Cooperative Personnel Services.
Teaching and team mentoring seems to be in my DNA as it keeps returning as a key activity in my life, so plans are underway to continue to expand professional training offerings.
I'd value your thoughts and ideas. To talk training, call me at 714.769-9159 or email me.
