I'm glad you are here. I'm Linda Zimmer. You'll often find me going by my digital identity, Znetlady.
I am a long-time marketer & digital strategist. Today, that means I'm deeply involved in helping people and organizations figure out "the social web." I have been working professionally in digital communities before there was "a Web" - since the 1980's.
I'm immersed in digital culture and observing people and behaviors in digital habitats. My purpose is to understand the people there and interpret them for my clients. My reward is continually being surprised.
Since the 1990's I've produced hundreds of web sites, live web broadcasts, and multimedia productions. I've worked with some of the most recognized brands on the planet - and as well as the smallest.
I founded my current practice, MarCom:Interactive in 1999. Under that banner I focus on "digitally remastering" marketing and organizational strategies so they are relevant in today's networked and social media environments. I also speak, train and write, mostly about new media.
At this site I've gathered together a few of my distributed presences across the web.
I am currently focused on two initiatives about which I am passionate:
Modern Media Leadership Institute
Social media professional development and training; workplace research and analysis of social media impacts.
Liquid Beings
An exploration of us as digital beings, who reside in the spaces between the body and the mind. They are the only true constant in modern time.
My other digital inkspots reflect my various shifting interests in digital life:
Archived Blogs
Business Communicators of Second Life
The exploration of Second Life and virtual worlds for business applications. Virtual worlds continue to grow as a medium and business solution.
Modern Voices
A random collection of quotes about media that I update when so moved for my personal use and reference.
Znetlady: Modern Media
An old archived blog about new media in practice.
The Modohood
Examples of new media in action.
Modern Mediasphere
Answering "what's it good for?" A few good posts here.
